Jane was born on March 1, 1941 in Amarillo, Texas. She was the only child of Milo Manning Feierabend and Alma Jean Rogers Feierabend Ashcroft.

From an early age, Jane's adventuresome side showed in her love for horseback riding and barrel racing. She was very involved in her community, appearing frequently in the small town's newspaper. From there she attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where she studied Art History and English and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority where she formed lifelong friendships. She was crowned the "Freshman Homecoming Queen" her freshman year and met her future husband, then a junior, Robert Randle Walker Jr.

Bob and Jane were married on December 29th,1961 in Perkins Chapel on the campus of Southern Methodist University and soon after moved to Northern California, where Bob was to start a new job in commercial real estate with Grubb & Ellis. John Ed Fry
January 15, 1941 to May 24, 1978
Hunting accident

No obituary has been found for John Ed Fry. In lieu of one, this account of his tragic, accidental death has been collected from news articles in May and June, 1978.

John Ed, an insurance agent in the Copperas Cove, Texas, area, was killed in a hunting accident on his farm near Lampasas on May 24, 1978. Relatives have said John Ed had no children.

An inquest was held to make a ruling on the cause of death, in part at the request of his family because John Ed had a federal lawsuit pending against several Lampasas County area law enforcement officials. He had named the sheriff, seven deputies, two members of the Lampasas police department, and others in his suit, alleging harassment of him and his family and that his civil and constitutional rights had been violated.

The ruling after nine witnesses testified at the inquest was that John Ed suffered "accidental death by gunshot." He was found by his wife near a barbed wire fence with a discharged shotgun nearby.
